Integrating R with Tableau for Advanced Analytics

Below are the steps to get the complete set up working for you:
1. Download and install R

2. Download Rserve package: 
i) Goto Start -> All Programs -> R -> R i386 3.1.1 (or any similar one)
ii) Give command: install.packages("Rserve")

3. Upon successful installation of above: i) Load the library: library(Rserve) ii) Give command to start R server which is Tableau's gateway to R: Rserve()

4. Now goto Tableau and check the connectivity: 
i) Goto: Help -> Settings & Performance -> Manage R Connections
ii) In Server name field put 127.0.0.1 and Port put 6311
iii) Press "Test Connection" button 
iv) A message "Successfully connected to Rserve message" should pop up; click OK
